Help Needed

DevCamp events are made possible by a lot of hard work – from the attendees themselves, the organizers, the volunteers, the sponsors, and those who simply spread the word.

We need your help.

There’s a lot of work to be done between the launch of this event and when we all come together as a group this summer. If you can spare just a few minutes and lend a hand, it would be most appreciated.

If you have an interest in attending GlassDevCamp, please to be notified of event updates. Signing up in advance of registration will help us gauge the interest level and assist us in event planning.

We need a venue that can hold hundreds of people. Attendance at iOSDevCamp has ranged from 300-650 people. Until we have a venue selected, we won’t be announcing the event dates or opening up registration. The venue dictates how many people we can invite, how we handle travel planning, catering, and so many other aspects of the event production. Getting a sponsor to donate a venue is ideal, as it will save over $10,000 in event production costs. We’ve been very lucky over the years with iOSDevCamp to have premier sponsors such as Adobe, Yahoo!, PayPal, and eBay offer the use of their space for our events. We have not yet reached out to anyone concerning venues. We plan to do this starting today now that the site is up and we’re moving ahead with planning. If you know of any good venue options for GlassDevCamp, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact us.

Events are expensive to produce and we couldn’t do this without the generous support of sponsors. Commercial sponsorships pay for at least half of the cost to produce our DevCamp events. If you are interested in sponsoring the event, please visit our Sponsorship page for more information.

There are a lot of people out there who would love to know about GlassDevCamp, but haven’t yet heard of it. It would be a huge help if you could post a link to this event on Twitter, your blog, Google+, Facebook, other sites, or even just mention it to a friend you know that is interested in developing for Google Glass.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post and considering ways to help make this event possible.
